Baseball Divisions

Tee Ball
Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls 4-6 (players must turn 4 by 8/31) years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.  No live pitching is permitted in this division. Generally, the diamond used is a 60-foot diamond, but the league has the option to use a 50-foot diamond.

Youth Minors- Coach Pitch
Minor League coach pitch programs for boys and girls 7-9 years old. This division is coach pitch, with the adults providing all the pitching.  Rosters are composed of between 9 and 15 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

Minors - Player Pitch
Minor League Player Pitch (kid pitch) programs for boys and girls 8-10 years old.  This division is player pitch, with the players providing all the pitching.   This is the last "instructional" league before the Little League level.  Rosters are composed of between 9 and 15 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

Majors - Little League
The Little League Baseball Division (sometimes known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 10-12. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. The league chooses a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 11-12-year-olds from within this division, and the team enters the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League Baseball.


Softball Divisions
The softball divisions below will be played out of the Wachusett region with home games being played in Rutland or Holden.


U8 - Instructional League
The U8 League Softball is for players aged 6-8 with less experience and is a coach-pitch instructional league. Younger girls play in the TBall baseball division until they are ready to transition to instructional league softball. For this division, competition will be close by to Rutland and Holden.

U10 - Minors Softball
U10 is for players aged 9 and 10. This division is a kid-pitch league with standings and playoffs. The ages in this division coincide with traditional minor level softball. For this division, games will be played in Rutland and Holden with away games involving more travel.

11-13 Juniors Softball
The Juniors Division is for girls ages 11-13. This division is also a kid-pitch league with standings and playoffs. The ages in this division coincide with traditional "major" level softball PLUS softball age 13. For this division, games will be played in Rutland and Holden with away games involving more travel.
